RAF TYPE G OXYGEN MASK, LARGE

For sale out of my own private collection is this stunning Type G Oxygen Mask, Size Large. Stores reference 6D/646.

As the photos show, the mask is in superb condition. The rubber facepiece is complete, with none of the usual hardening or 'melting' that seems to sadly plague a lot of masks these days. There is only a slight curling to the mask's edges, and a small amount of surface crazing to the top of the nose (I think the macro photos exaggerate this somewhat).

The mask is an early pattern, with the stippled top and figure of eight pattern mask clip. The copper wire to secure the nose bridge is still in place, and whilst this has come away from the right-hand lug, this is impossible to notice when displayed.

The mask's webbing harness has some soiling, and only partial elasticity remains in the side straps. The chamois soiling is finished in the early tan colour, and again it has some soiling, but nothing that detracts from the mask's appearance.

The mask is complete with a type 48 microphone assembly (type 25 microphone, loom and socket), all in excellent condition.

Overall a superb mask, which is ready for display. I am only selling this due to a partial upgrade.
