RAF TYPE D ELECTRICALLY HEATED FLYING GLOVES + LINERS

For sale are a beautiful, matching 'pair' of RAF Type D Electrically Heated Gloves (22C/765/770) complete with the rare heated liners (22C/715/718). Size 9.

The gauntlets themselves are a lovely chestnut brown and in fantastic condition, with no holes in the lining or signs of heavy wear; just gentle service use. The liners are in good condition, but as the photos show have suffered from a few areas where the silk outer shell has worn through. These are the only real flaws as the inside flame-proof cotton fleece (encasing the heated element) is perfect.

These gauntlets can be considered a true 'pair' as they have matching contract dates of 6732, supplemented by the liners' contract dates of 6731. Whilst it is scarce to find true pairs of these gauntlets, it is even more unusual to find them with their original liners. The Type D Electrically Heated Gloves were intended for use with the wired 1941 pattern Sidcot Suit.
