RAF TYPE 48 MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY

For sale is an original RAF Type 48 Microphone Assembly, comprising a Type 25 Microphone (10A/12570) fitted with the short lead and 2-pin connector for fitting to internally wired helmets. 

The microphone is in excellent condition retaining the majority of it's original painted finish. The rear cap is sound and still unscrews, and the rubber retaining ring is complete and (despite being a little dry to the touch) still flexible. 

There is some fraying to the wiring lead where it joins the microphone, but it is otherwise a nice example; tan with black flecks. 

This type of microphone was issued as a complete unit, usually found on E* or G Type Oxygen Masks fitted to internally wired helmets (C, D and E Type).
 
A nice, original, wartime set.
