For sale is a lovely post war RAF Seat Type Parachute Harness and Pack. Always a good substitute to finish off a wartime display, this 1954 dated example is in very good overall condition and free from damage.
 
The appearance of this set is virtually identical to the wartime pattern with the obvious exception of the black buckles on the Harness. It does, however, retain an early wartime quick release buckle which is scarce in itself. There is no Parachute Canopy or Rigging Lines, the pack being filled out with cloth padding which simulates its correct appearance and gives the set a nice amount of weight. There are no Bungees (cords). The Pack is dated 1954 and labelled Type S Mk4 15a/658. The Back Pad is labelled 15a/957. The harness has a black and faded red fleck.
 
Wartime seat parachute sets are very rare and hard to come by these days. Not to mention worth over £2k+. These post war sets make a great investment and acceptable alternative for the collector or reenactor.
