RAF MARK IVB FLYING GOGGLES - 22C/167

For sale are a lovely, scarce pair of RAF Mark IVB Flying Goggles. 22C/167.
 
The goggles are in very nice condition, with the majority of the original paintwork to the frames remaining (these are finished in the blackened brass finish). As is the case with the majority of IVB Goggles, the rear rubber pads are hardened and misshapen, though these are definitely better than a lot of pairs; most are usually destroyed .
 
The strap and sprung loops are all lovely, with the springs still flexible, and the strap itself nicely marked with clear stampings.
 
The lenses show signs of delamination. This can be cleaned, and if done the goggles would certainly look exceptional, but I will leave it up to the buyer to decide whether to restore them or leave them as they are.
 
Overall a lovely pair of these scarce Battle of Britain flying goggles.
