RAF FLYING HELMET IMPEDANCE CONTROL SWITCH FOR WIRING LOOM
RESERVED
For sale is an Impedance Control Switch, Type 110. 10A/13163.
The Impedance Control Switch was introduced to sit in-line on early external wiring looms, typically for usage with Type B/C/D/E flying helmets. The purpose of the switch was to assist aircrew flying in American Lend-Lease aircraft that utilised low impedance radios. This was found to be incompatible with RAF aircraft that used high impedance R/T systems. The switch allowed aircrew to facilitate their communication systems for both types of impedance.
The switch is in good, used condition with nice markings. A scarce find these days.
